In the Words of a Junior  by Caitlyn Houser  6-7-05

Hi, my name is Caitlyn Houser.  I am a ten year old junior dog shower.  I show a Basenji named Kimya.  She is a three and a 1/2 year old Tri colored girl that we have had for 3 years.  We show in Juniors together.  Being a junior is as about easy as climbing a mountain.  We love to show, but it has it's ups and downs.  You have to know how to win and lose.  If you earn first place, that's great, but if not, OH WELL!  Congratulate the winner and remember how much fun you just had with your dog. If I could give you one tip, it would be: When you're in the ring you have to remember that it's just you, your dog, and the judge.  Even if there's eleven other people in the ring; you just have to ignore what's going on around you.  Trust me, I have had it happen to me, you have to pay attention!

Just a few words from a junior showman.  Good luck and have fun!
